Pre-Kindergarten Program

Our program combines 20 years of experience with a research based curriculum and exceptional teacher-student ratios. We focus on developing the whole child through learning centers and age appropriate activities rather than relying on worksheets and rote memorization. Kindergarten readiness happens through daily practice with independence, following routines, and completing tasks from start to finish. Children learn early literacy skills through phonics instruction and hands-on activities. They build math concepts through manipulatives and real-world problem-solving. Our age appropriate curriculum ensures children enter kindergarten confident in their abilities and comfortable in classroom settings, ready to thrive from their first day.

Daily routines begin with morning circle time where children practice calendar skills, discuss the weather, and learn about the letter of the week. The day flows through learning centers where children rotate between literacy activities, math games, science exploration, and creative arts. Classroom guides lead small group instruction while children also enjoy free play, outdoor time, lunch with friends, and structured lessons that keep them engaged throughout the school year. Yes! We encourage all families considering our pre k program to schedule a tour of our campus. You'll see our thoughtfully designed classrooms, meet our educators including our school director, and observe how kids engage with our curriculum. Tours give you a genuine feel for our learning environment and help you envision your son or daughter thriving with us.

Children learn social skills through daily interactions with classmates and guidance from caring classroom guides. We create a nurturing environment where kids practice sharing, taking turns, expressing emotions appropriately, and resolving conflicts peacefully. Classroom guides model empathy and help children understand different perspectives, building relationships that support healthy development. This focus on emotional growth builds the confidence and self-regulation children need for kindergarten success.

More than half our educators hold bachelor's or master's degrees in early childhood education or related fields. All classroom guides complete 20 hours of continuing education annually to stay current with best practices. Every educator maintains CPR and first aid certification, and many have been with Parker Landing for a long while, bringing exceptional experience to their classrooms. Parents trust that their kids are in good hands with our qualified team.

Physical development happens through daily activities that strengthen both fine and gross motor skills. Children practice cutting, drawing, manipulating playdough, and working with small manipulatives to build hand strength. They also spend time outdoors running, climbing, balancing, and playing active games that build coordination. These motor skills prepare children for kindergarten demands, from holding pencils properly to sitting attentively during lessons.

We offer full time enrollment for our pre-kindergarten program, with children attending Monday through Friday. 

Learning centers give kids choices about where to explore and what to discover. A child might start the morning building structures with blocks, then move to the art center to paint, before settling at the literacy station to look at books. This freedom within structure helps children develop independence and decision-making skills while ensuring they experience all areas of our age appropriate curriculum throughout the week.

Safety comes first at Parker Landing CDC. Our security system was designed by former Secret Service agents and includes controlled entry points and CCTV monitoring throughout the campus. Parents can check in on their child anytime through our secure monitoring app. All classroom guides maintain current CPR and first aid certification, and we follow strict health and safety protocols. Families have peace of mind knowing their kids are in good hands in our secure learning environment.

Children should have completed potty training before enrolling in our pre k program, or be actively working toward completion. Our guides work with families to support this important developmental milestone and help children feel confident during this transition.
